Water & Environment

Rapid urbanisation has led to various environmental issues, such as water security and pollution being some of the most pressing issues in many parts of the world. In addition, the generation of various solid wastes from industries and air pollution also affects climate change issue and the overall balance of ecosystem. Our research stream looks into the possible ways to manage and tackle the generation of wastewater (and other alternative source waters) and solid waste with the aim to treat them to acceptable standards for recycling and reuse or discharge purpose as well as potentially extracting valuable by-products that could add value to the entire chain of process. Life cycle assessment (LCA) analyses processes’ environmental impacts contributed from its cradle to grave.
