This scheme enables students in local institutions of higher education to obtain an education loan from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to finance their education fees.
Can only be done online at PTPTN Portal. Hard copy loan applications are no longer accepted.
1. Download and register myPTPTN (effective 15 September 2025, new myPTPTN users must register for MyDigital ID as this will be the primary login method for myPTPTN).
2. Proceed with the loan application registration (RM5 fee).

4. Upload course offer letter while filling the online application form.
Important
Mode of Study: Full Time
Please note that PTPTN online applications must be accompanied with your course offer letter. Your course offer letter must include Mode of Study: Full Time. If the “Mode of Study: Full Time” is not indicated in your course offer letter, you will need to request a re-issuance of your course offer letter with this information. Please email your request to mum.admissions@monash.edu at least 5 working days in advance with the email content here.
Tarikh Mula Pengajian
For February intake students, please select Tarikh Mula Pengajian as “01/03/your intake Year”(e.g., February 2026 intake, select “01/03/2026”).
For July intake students, please select Tarikh Mula Pengajian as “01/10/your intake Year”, (e.g, for July 2026 intake, select “01/10/2026”). Please download the Julat letter and merge it with the course offer letter before uploading it during the online application.
For October intake students, please select Tarikh Mula Pengajian as “01/10/your intake Year”, (e.g, for October 2026 intake, select “01/10/2026”).
The PTPTN Online Application are open four (4) times in a year.
1. 1st February to 28th February.
2. 1st March to 31st March.
3. 1st September to 30th September.
4. 1st October to 31st October.
There are two choices to sign the PTPTN agreement.
1. Digital
You may sign the digital agreement through myPTPTN.
2. Physical
You are to print
You are required to sign on all necessary pages and get the witness signature from an authorised officer.

You may purchase the SETEM Hasil and submit the digital agreement through myPTPTN, RM25 Fee.
2. Physical
You are required to buy 2 SETEM HASIL worth RM10 each from the Post Office and paste them on the dedicated page for both sets.
To submit all documents to PTPTN office within 2 weeks of the approval date. Please check the PTPTN website for the nearest office.

Student’s eligibility for the respective loan categories shown above shall be determined by their parents’ income.
The loan disbursement will be credited directly to the student's personal account with Maybank.
The first loan payment is released only after the completed agreement is accepted by PTPTN.
The subsequent PTPTN loan would be disbursed based on the following criteria.
1. Average score in the preceding semester 50.00 or above (PGO for M6019 course). AND
2. Has enrolled into the current semester. AND
3. Study location : Malaysia campus. AND
4. The PTPTN loan period is still active.
The subsequent PTPTN loan disbursement dates are as follow:
Semester One : 25 March.
Semester Two : 25 October.
The PTPTN Education Loan Scheme includes loan insurance to cover the loan issued by PTPTN in the event of the borrower’s death. Under the concept of group coverage, the amount of the loan issued by PTPTN to all borrowers will be fully protected from takaful operators appointed by PTPTN throughout the loan disbursement period.
The payment of loans will be suspended for a particular semester for the following reasons:-

Repayment of loan shall start 12 months after completion of the course. Deferment of repayment can be considered for borrowers who continue their studies and those who are not working. An application to PTPTN must be submitted. However, administrative cost will be charged during the period of deferment.
To be eligible for the PTPTN loan repayment exemption application, students must meet the main requirements as below.
Completed the course with first class honours or equivalent.
i. Bachelor Of Engineering (Honours) with final course grade of H1 OR
ii. Bachelor Of Pharmacy (Honours) with final course grade of H1 OR
iii. Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine with WAM 80.00% or above OR
iv. Four Or Three years degree courses with WAM 80.00% or above AND
v. The completed course must be the same course specified in the PTPTN agreement AND
vi. Course completed within the period that had been stipulated in the PTPTN agreement.
To submit the PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption Application to PTPTN within 12 months from the course completion date (the award qualified date stated in the Academic Record).
The approval of the PTPTN loan repayment exemption would be at PTPTN discretion.

Starting from 1st January, 2026, the PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption (waiver) for achieving First Class Honours will not be available to graduates from private universities (IPTS).
For those who have completed their studies in 2025, but will only be attending the Graduation Ceremony in 2026, you will still be eligible to apply for the PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption.
