TeaMWork virtual international projects
TeaMWork is an online internship program that enables you to collaborate with other students from across the globe. Working online, you’ll join a team of students from various disciplines and countries to participate in a virtual project for an international organisation.
What is a virtual project?
A virtual project is a real industry task you can complete online with a team of students working at different locations. Each virtual team has six students: two from Monash Australia, two from Monash Malaysia and two from Warwick University.
We’ll provide you with access to a secure easy-to-use platform where you can meet with your team online, share materials, and review your progress.
Before the project begins, you’ll be mentored and guided by your organisation, who will be there throughout the project to provide help whenever you need it. Monash and Warwick staff will also provide induction training and mentoring to support you during your TeaMWork experience.
Reasons to join a virtual team
Working in a virtual team provides you with a great opportunity to work closely with an organisation and gain insight to an industry through unpaid work experience. You’ll gain valuable skills in project management, teamwork and intercultural competency – skills highly sought after by employers. And because the virtual projects are online, they’re easy to access and you can work flexibly.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you need to be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree. You won’t need any knowledge of a specific topic or sector so you can apply regardless of what you’re studying.
The project will take place during the first three weeks of July on a part-time flexible basis. You should allow up to 10 hours per week for work on the project.
Types of projects
The projects are provided by organisations from different industries around the world so they’ll be broad and varied.
Your team might work on:
- developing a business plan
- bringing a new product to market
- designing and carrying out market research
- looking at how to adapt a product for a new market
- identifying the impact of emerging technology.
What you need
You’ll need a computer and internet connection. We’ll provide you with an online platform where you can connect with your team, your organisation and University mentors.
