Monash Equity Scholarship

Tuition Fee Waiver and/or Stipend

This scholarship is :

  • to support financially deserving students.
  • open to Malaysian citizens and Malaysian permanent residents.
  • only for new students.
  • for entry into undergraduate programmes except the following:
    • Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine
    • Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Business and Commerce and Bachelor of Computer Science
    • Bachelor of Business and Commerce and Bachelor of Digital Media and Communication
    • Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Materials Engineering (Honours)
  • 100% tuition and associated fees waiver of the course, plus a stipend of RM2000/month
  • A one-off laptop allowance

OR

  • 50% to 100% tuition fee waiver of the course only
  • A one-off laptop allowance
  • Meet the minimum admission requirements (academic and English language proficiency) of your chosen undergraduate degree programme.
  • Possess excellent academic record.
  • Strong involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Selection will be needs-based, taking into account academic achievement and involvement in extra-curricular activities, as determined by Monash University Malaysia.

  • You must maintain the maintenance score stated in your offer letter.
  • You must enrol a full load of 24 credit points.
  • You must complete the course within the normal duration.  No extensions will be permitted.
  • You are not permitted to take on other financial assistance at any point of your studies.

All documents listed above are compulsory for the consideration of your scholarship application. Late applications or applications with incomplete documentation will not be considered.

For applicants whose parent or guardian does not have an income, an income declaration letter, verified by the Commissioner for Oaths, is required.

Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and candidates who are successful in their interview will be awarded the scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of Monash University Malaysia.

Ng Kong Lin Family Intercampus Scholarship

The Ng Family are of Malaysian background, where many members of the family are graduates of Monash University. The Ng Family values the importance of an international education and the unique experience it can provide for youth who are hoping to make a difference in their community.

The Ng Kong Lin Family Intercampus Scholarship is named after the late Mr Ng Kong Lin, who saw the value of education, and albeit uncommon for his generation, he sent his sons and daughters to Australia in the1960s for their tertiary education. Two of his children were the first of the Ng Family to be educated at Monash University.

This intercampus scholarship will enable academically bright but financially disadvantaged students from Monash Malaysia to undertake a one-semester exchange to Monash Australia - to give them an opportunity to embrace the international experience,  moving them towards accepting and understanding an array of different cultural and community perspectives that would eventually help them in becoming global citizens.

This scholarship is :

  • open to Malaysian citizen AND
  • full-time students only.

Each scholarship will have a value of up to AUD$16,000 which includes: -

  • AUD$8500 stipend (living expense in Australia, return flights,  Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) insurance, and all other miscellaneous costs).
  • 1 semester stay at one of Monash University Australia’s on-campus accommodation.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Must meet the requirements for the Global Intercampus Program.
  • Selection will be based on academic achievement and need-based as determined by the interview panel.
  • You must enrol a full load of 24 credit points.
  • You are not permitted to change course.
  • You must complete the course within the normal duration.  No extensions will be permitted.
