6th iCUBE Scientific Committee Meeting at Universiti Brunei Darussalam
On the 15-16th November 2023, Professor Emily Goh, Head of School of the School of Science and Professor Adeline Ting, Head of Discipline, Biological Sciences, were invited to Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) for the 6th iCUBE Scientific Committee Meeting and also to participate in the Kuala Belalong Rainforest Experience at UBD's Kuala Belalong Field Studies Centre (KBFSC).
On Day 1, the iCUBE (International Consortium of Universities for the Study of Biodiversity and the Environment) discussions were chaired by Dr Joyce Teo Siew Yean, the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Vice President (Global Affairs) of UBD. Discussions were geared towards potential long-term collaborations with iCUBE.
In addition, Dr Hussein bin Haji Taha, the Head of IBER (Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research) hosted a separate discussion to introduce their research emphasis and expertise. This was followed by visits to the various research labs in the Faculty of Integrative Technologies to understand the research groups and their current activities.
On Day 2, Dr Zarifi (Head of iCUBE) led the rainforest experience that took place at the KBFSC, where more discussions on research and teaching activities were explored.
