Introduction of Food Analyst Act and Regulation, Updates and Values of the Enforcement


Dr Koh Yew Ming is a dynamic analytical chemist with more than 15 years of industry and research experience on various platform technologies covering a wide range of applications in environmental, occupational health and food analysis. He has accumulated a diverse background of work experience being based in Malaysia and Indonesia over the past 15 years, from analytical method development, method troubleshooting to ISO 17025 certification management system and laboratory setup training. Dr Koh is also a visiting lecturer at University of Indonesia for Masters in Toxicology program since 2009 and part time tutor at Open University Malaysia for Degree in Chemistry and Physics program since 2003. He has been invited as speaker in various seminar and conference organized by government bodies and private industries on environmental, occupational safety and food related matters. Apart from being the Council Member of Malaysia Institute of Food Technology (MIFT), he is also the Member of Malaysia Institute of Chemistry (IKM) and Malaysia Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA), International Affliate of America Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and Member of Institute Materials Malaysia (IMM). With vast invaluable experience, he has been appointed by Ministry of Health (MOH) as the Council Member of Malaysia Food Analyst Council to implement and execute Food Analyst Act 2011 and Food Analyst Regulation 2013 in Malaysia.
