General Information

1. What is the name and theme of the conference?

- To facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary insights in tropical biodiversity, conservation genomics, and global biodiversity change, fostering a deeper understanding of species, ecosystems, and genetic diversity in tropical regions.
- To promote genomic applications in conservation.
- To raise awareness on the trends and impacts of biodiversity change through examining the drivers, patterns, and consequences of biodiversity loss and transformation, particularly in tropical regions.
- To facilitate cross-sectoral dialogue and co-creation of solutions for biodiversity conservation.
- To contribute towards capacity building and professional development and help nurture the next generation of leaders in conservation genomics.
The conference will be held on 3-5 November 2026 at Monash University Malaysia, located in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, Malaysia.

Conference Tracks	Description
1.Tropical Biodiversity	This theme covers new species discoveries (macro- and micro-organisms), assessments of biodiversity hotspots, and the vital ecosystem services that tropical biodiversity provides to humanity, aiming to deepen our understanding of these complex systems in an era of rapid environmental change.
2.Conservation Genomics	This theme includes population genomics for assessing genetic health and connectivity, eDNA for non-invasive species monitoring, wildlife forensics for combating illegal trade, and understanding the genetic basis of adaptation to threats like climate change and disease.
3.Integrative Biodiversity Discovery	This theme focuses on understanding the dynamics and impacts of biodiversity change in our rapidly changing world. It highlights integrative approaches that combine field-based studies, remote sensing, and genomic data to track and predict trends in biodiversity loss and alteration.
4.Mobilisation for Conservation	This theme is dedicated to exploring innovative strategies for engaging society in conservation efforts, featuring discussions on the role of policy, community-led conservation initiatives, citizen science, environmental education, and cross-sectoral partnerships.

Registration

Registration can be completed online through our conference website.
Registration fees vary based on different registration categories. Please refer to the registration page on our website for detailed pricing and inclusions.
The Early Bird Registration closes on 31 July 2026, while Regular Registration will close on 13 October 2026.
Walk-in registration may be available. However, we strongly encourage pre-registration to secure your place at the conference and to ensure adequate catering arrangements.
Early Bird Registration opens on 1 March 2026. All payments must be made through shop.monash. Accepted payment methods include online credit card, Grab pay and Alipay. Completion of payments indicates successful registration for the conference.
There are no age restrictions for registration unless otherwise specified.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the registration fee. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.

Dress Code and Dietary Requirements

The dress code for the conference is smart casual.

Yes, abstract submission guidelines and deadlines can be found on our website. Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations, poster sessions, or rapid oral presentations.
The abstract submission deadline is 31 July 2026. Please note that extensions to the abstract submission deadline may not be available. However, if there are any changes or updates to the deadline, all participants will be notified via email or social media platforms. We encourage all interested participants to submit their abstracts before the specified deadline to ensure consideration for inclusion in the conference programme.

There is no transportation organised by the committee. Public transportation options are available and can be found on the website.
