Physical Chemistry and The Processing of Resources
In this talk Prof Follink will discuss some of the physico-chemical concepts that they developed over the course of a number of years and at a range of institutions (CSIRO, UniSA Adelaide, Monash Clayton) that hold potential of addressing some key challenges in the minerals and other processing industries. The concepts themselves are generic and may prove useful in other applications in other industries.
Prof Follink will try to explain why mineral processing (in Australia) has had to change so much over the last decades, the inspiration that can be gotten from sintering science and how encapsulation technology can spill over from pharmacy into mineral processing.
