Abstract:
By 2050, the world’s population is predicted to reach 9 billion people – + 2 billion with continuous growth in Africa and Asia. Agriculture and food industry will need to increase food production when food diet and equal distribution of food is questionable. Global challenges may not be possible unless dramatic changes in how is produced, shipped, stored and consumed. Feeding everyone is possible as long as the different actors within agriculture and food industries work together to ensure sustainable development, addressing the threat of climate change by adjusting farming strategies, and preserving natural resources.
This lecture tend to consider principal challenges facing global agriculture and food industry by delivering prospective thinking and open discussion. Illustrations from France and Europe will be delivered throughout the lecture.

Professor Christophe David is currently the Deputy Dean of Education, Research, International, ISARA. He is also the President of Scientific committee of TERRES INOVIA. With a leading role overseeing 160 employees and 1200 students, Professor Christophe David brings a wealth of expertise to the field, particularly in organic and perennial grain agroecosystems. Known for their dedication to developing sustainable agricultural practices, Professor Christophe David has contributed extensively to both research and practical applications, with 65 peer-reviewed publications and numerous contributions to conferences and scientific committees.
