The School of Science is pleased to announce that two of its academic staff, Associate Professor Choo Wee Sim and Dr Yeong Keng Yoon, have been recognised among the World’s Top 2% Scientists, in acknowledgement of their outstanding research contributions and academic excellence.

In recognition of this achievement, both academics were invited to attend the National Academic Excellence Forum and Award Ceremony 2026, held on 28 April 2026 at Le Quadri Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event was organised by the Private Universities Professors’ Association of Malaysia (PPUSM) and brought together leading academics and researchers from private universities across Malaysia, providing a platform for intellectual exchange and collaboration.

The ceremony was graced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, YB Tuan Adam Adli. Their presence underscored the importance of higher education and research excellence in advancing Malaysia’s development agenda.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of distinguished academics, including recipients of the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists distinction. The forum also featured discussions on enhancing research impact, strengthening institutional collaboration, and advancing the role of private universities in national progress.
