We are thrilled to share that the academics from the School of Science have won Silver and Bronze medals at the International Putra Innocreative Carnival in Teaching and Learning 2025 (I-PICTL2025) on 17 June 2025. These awards show our educational innovation and commitment towards transformational learning experiences for our students.
The Silver medal goes to the team of Dr Faddrine Jang, Dr Foo Su Chern, and Harlina Yunus for the project “Bringing the Environment to the Classroom: Immersive Fieldwork as a Tool for Undergraduate Learning”. This experiential learning initiative transforms ecological theory into hands-on research and discovery, earning enthusiastic praise from students and reinforcing the power of field-based education. This recognition highlights the value of research-led, experiential teaching in ecological education. It marks a proud achievement in advancing innovative science education at Monash University Malaysia.
The Bronze medal goes to the team of Dr Suk Kuan Teng, Dr Juwaini Abu Bakar, Dr Lai Hien Tet, and Dr Michelle Yap for the project “Developing Scientific Literacy and Skills through Targeted Workshop: A Case Study in Science Education”. The project focuses on the sub-theme of micro-credentials and lifelong adaptability, which equips first-year science students with essential scientific writing, scientific info search, data analysis, and AI literacy skills, forming a strong foundation for science students to progress and excel in their academic journeys.
