Monash Science Cup 2026: Pop-Up @ Northern Region

Science in Action: Solve, Create, Innovate!

What happens when you bring together curious minds, real lab experiments, and a race against time? You get a day packed with discovery, teamwork, and just the right amount of scientific chaos in the best way possible.

The Monash Science Cup 2026 Pop-Up @ Northern Region turned up the energy this year, welcoming 80 students from across the northern region to step out of the classroom and into a world of hands-on science. From the moment teams arrived (fueled by breakfast and excitement), the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation.

After a warm welcome and safety briefing, it was straight into action. In the labs, participants tackled chemistry, biology, and genetics challenges designed to test not just what they know but how they think. Every experiment, every decision, every second mattered.

🕵️‍♂️ And then came the crowd favourite…

CSI Challenge: The Missing Scientist 🔬

In just 60 minutes, teams became forensic investigators decoding clues, analysing DNA, identifying chemicals, and piecing together a mystery. It was fast, intense, and seriously fun. Think science meets detective work.

But it wasn’t all about competition. Students got a taste of real university lab life, connected with academics, and explored what a future in science could look like. Between experiments and laughs, the day captured what science is really about curiosity, collaboration, and discovery.
