Our PhD Student Awarded a Bursary by Wellcome Connecting Science

Congratulations to one of our PhD student, Tan Yan Eve, supervised by Professor Qasim Ayub, on receiving a bursary from Wellcome Connecting Science.

The bursary was competitively awarded to support her attendance at the Mutations in Time and Space 2026 conference, held from 13–15 April 2026 at the Wellcome Genome Campus, Hinxton, UK. The award covered 75% of the conference registration and accommodation costs.

During the conference, Eve delivered an oral presentation on her research project titled GRePl: Genomics of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss.

The conference brought together researchers at the forefront of genomics to explore the origins, patterns, and consequences of mutations across biological systems. Discussions spanned cells, tissues, individuals, populations, and species, highlighting how genome evolution shapes human health and ageing, while also providing insights into cancer, somatic mosaicism, and developmental disorders.

Congratulations once again on this outstanding achievement!
