School of Science PhD students awarded the MTSF grant 2022

School of Science PhD students, Muhammad Zarul Hanifah bin Md Zoqratt and Wong Li Wen (Vivian) have been awarded the prestigious 2022 Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science and Technology Research Grant.

Muhammad Zarul is supervised by Professor Qasim Ayub, and his winning project is entitled "Dissecting Microbial Carbon and Nitrogen Metabolism in the North Selangor Tropical Peat Swamp Using Shotgun Metagenomics". The co-researcher of this project is Dr Patrick Tan Hock Siew.

Vivian is supervised by Dr Joash Tan Ban Lee and the project is entitled " Novel Nanocomposite Hydrogel Scaffold for Haemostatic Dressing"
