Medical Bioscience Day 2023

The School of Science  organized it's first ever Medical Bioscience Day  on the 25th of May 2023.

The 3rd year students of the Medical Bioscience program came together with academics of the Medical Bioscience unit, for the event with an array of engaging activities, showcasing their talents and dedication to advancing healthcare.

The highlight of the day was the Poster and Video Exhibition, where students proudly displayed and presented on various healthcare topics, which also spreads awareness on diseases such as Thalassemia.

Adding a creative twist to the event, an enthralling Bacterial Art Competition took place. Combining science and art, students demonstrated their talent in cultivating and arranging bacteria into stunning patterns and shapes. The competition not only showcased the artistic prowess of the students but also emphasized the crucial role bacteria play in medical research and biotechnological applications.

In keeping with the spirit of giving back to society, a Blood Donation Drive was organized during the event. The drive garnered an overwhelming response from both students and staff, highlighting the altruistic nature of the medical bioscience community.

Lastly, a sharing session by alumni from the Medical Bioscience program gave the students great insight on careers in the Medical Bioscience field and provided an opportunity for networking .

Professor Chow Sek Chuen, head of discipline of the Medical Bioscience program , expressed his pride in the students' accomplishments and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical research.

The event concluded on a high note, leaving attendees inspired and hopeful for the future of medical bioscience.
