I have a very dynamic job. I am a Partnership Marketing Associate and a Digital Lead at Monkey Theory Sdn Bhd which is an events’ company that specialises in organising sports and lifestyle events. I am in charge of setting, implementing and monitoring the company’s marketing campaigns. Promoting their events via various social media channels by setting up their digital ads and optimising them. I am also in charge of collaborating with key media partners and sponsors who could play a role in enhancing the company’s events.
How has your study in Monash Malaysia helped to prepare you for the working world?
I think Monash toughened me up. It has prepared me to always stay on top of my game and if I disagree about something to “SPEAK UP”. A lot of Monash students may think the university, or the lecturers are extra firm. However, they will come to know that the professional world is ruthless, and most Monash students are often used to working very hard, so we tend to stand out.
What did you love most about your student life at Monash?
I loved my lecturers, it was so interesting to have all these dynamic lecturers who come from different countries and have different backgrounds play a huge role in reaching me and forming my personality. I also loved the atmosphere, as stressful as it got, there was a beauty in stressing over deadlines and exams; because this was the time where all the students got together during SWOT vacation and collectively spent sleepless nights in the tutorial rooms, studying together and breaking down in tears or in laughter from the pressure before the finals. As a student I never thought I’ll miss Monash but as a graduate, I do not think I go a day without missing the university and wishing I could go back.
