The Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JCSMHS) commemorated its 20th anniversary with a celebratory dinner on 25 September 2025 at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Johor Bahru. The special evening brought together distinguished guests, alumni, partners, and staff to honour two decades of excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare innovation.
Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University Malaysia, delivered the opening speech for the night. She reflected on the School’s journey since its establishment in 2005 and its growth into a leading centre for medical and health sciences education in Malaysia. Over the years, JCSMHS has produced doctors, researchers, and professionals who continue to make an impact both locally and globally.
The evening also paid tribute to the Ministry of Health, teaching hospitals, and the many academics and professional staff whose dedication has shaped the School’s success. Special acknowledgement was given to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO, whose vision and commitment to education laid the foundation for Monash University Malaysia and the medical school that bears his name.
