HackMY IoT 2026 took place at Monash University Malaysia from 19–20 September 2026. The event was sponsored by MyEvolution and supported by Monash University Malaysia and MyIoTA. It was organised by IEMMSS in association with La French Tech Malaysia. It brought students together to use Internet of Things (IoT) technology to design and construct solutions.

The three challenge tracks that participants worked on were Operation Zero Trust, Next-Gen Parking Solutions, and Save the Farm. The goal of the hackathon was to improve students' technical and problem-solving abilities while providing them with opportunities to collaborate, receive mentorship, and pitch their ideas to business experts.

HackMY IoT 2026 brought together 108 participants with support from 36 mentors, staff members and judges. Participants formed teams and worked across three tracks: Save the Farm, Next-Gen Parking Solutions and Operation Zero Trust.

The challenge required teams to act quickly and efficiently. They had to understand their assigned problem, decide on a solution, split up tasks, build their project and prepare a demo. Throughout the event, mentoring sessions allowed teams to get feedback, ask questions and refine their ideas before submission. The round featured pitches where participants had to clearly explain their technical solutions to the judges.

The event also relied on the efforts of committee members and volunteers. They handled registration, food and drink, technical help, mentoring coordination, photography and general guidance for participants. On the day, they managed the three pitching rooms, collected project submissions and helped run the award ceremony. Their work helped make the event run smoothly.

The main result was showing off projects from all three tracks. People got to practice solving problems, working together, managing time and speaking in front of others. Winners of each track were given awards during a ceremony. The three top teams got to present once more for the big prize.

People who took part said they liked the event but also gave some ideas for things to change next time. Many said they liked the food, the place, the equipment and the overall feeling. Some said they want to go to hackathons. Others said they wanted instructions about how to submit their work and what the challenges needed. They also wanted help from the people who guide them and more notice about when they need to be back, at night. Some also said they needed places to rest if they stayed overnight. These thoughts help the people organising the event know what to consider when planning the next one.

HackMY IoT 2026 gave students a hands-on opportunity to apply their expertise to issues in digital security, parking, and agriculture. Over the course of two days, participants created projects, consulted mentors for guidance, and presented their solutions to judges. Teams can investigate various issues as they participate in a shared learning process through the three-track approach.
