Not all courses accept internal transfers in every intake. The available courses, campus locations, and intake restrictions for Semester 1, 2027, will be published on the Course Transfer Offering page after application opens in August. Before applying, check the page for: available courses for Semester 1, 2027, campuses where each course is offered, any intake, cohort or course restrictions. Some majors, specialisations or study streams may have limited availability.
Entry requirements are listed on the Course Transfer Offering page and are determined by the relevant Faculty for each intake. Requirements may include: minimum WAM requirements, prerequisite subjects, Faculty-specific criteria, and additional selection requirements such as a portfolio, audition or interview. The final Semester 1, 2027 requirements will be published with each Faculty’s course listing.
For courses offered at both Monash Malaysia and Monash Australia campuses, entry requirements are generally the same. However, some courses may have additional conditions. For example, certain programs may only be available to students already enrolled in that Faculty, or may have restricted majors or study streams.
To apply: Check your eligibility, including course availability and entry requirements. Prepare any required supporting documents. Submit your application through the Course Transfer Portal before the closing date. Receive your outcome through the portal on the published outcome date. Accept your offer and complete the required steps. Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Apply for your Australian student visa. Complete your current semester at Monash Malaysia before transferring.
Yes. You may nominate multiple course preferences in your application. Applications are assessed against the requirements for each preference, and you will receive one offer only for the highest preference you are eligible for.
Yes. You may update your preferences before the published deadline for changes.
You will receive an unsuccessful application outcome if you do not meet the requirements for any of your selected course preferences.
Your receiving Faculty will assess your credit as part of the transfer process. If you apply while still completing your current semester, an initial credit assessment will be based on the units you have successfully completed at the time of assessment. Current semester enrolments may be considered for planning purposes. Your initial offer and CoE will generally be issued based on completed units only.
Additional credit may be granted after your final results are released. If approved, your CoE may be updated, and your overall study duration may be reduced.
Your remaining study duration depends on the amount of credit granted by the receiving Faculty. Once your credit assessment is finalised, your Faculty will confirm the remaining duration of your course.
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may need to provide: academic transcripts from previous non-Monash tertiary study (if seeking external credit) unit outlines for subjects completed outside Monash evidence of prerequisite subjects Faculty-specific requirements such as portfolios, audition materials or interview documents.
To accept your offer, you will need to provide: a signed International Student Course Agreement (ISCA), a course deposit payment, an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) arrangement, and a copy of your passport. Uploading your documents through the application portal will help with faster processing.
Your CoE will be issued once all acceptance requirements have been completed. Your Faculty will finalise the course transfer after you complete your current semester at Monash University Malaysia. If your credit assessment changes after final results are released, an updated CoE reflecting your revised study duration may be issued.
Yes. You must hold a valid Australian student visa before commencing your studies at Monash University in Australia. You can find visa information on the Monash student visa webpage.
Visa processing times vary depending on the application period. Indicative processing times are: 2–4 weeks during priority processing periods, 6–8 weeks during peak processing periods. For Semester 1, 2027 entry, students are strongly encouraged to start their visa application once the COE is received, before the December 2026 Christmas shutdown period, to allow sufficient processing time.
Your offer and pre-arrival information will include the specific enrolment deadlines and latest arrival dates. You should allow enough time to: accept your offer, receive your CoE, apply for your visa, and arrange travel before the semester begins.
