Evidence Synthesis Workshop

You are invited to attend the evidence synthesis workshop, organized by the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. Evidence synthesis is considered a necessary component for health technology assessment (HTA). Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are used as tools to compare the benefits and harms of interventions for HTA. This workshop is aimed at providing participants with an extensive understanding of evidence synthesis through systematic review and classical pair- wise meta-analysis for the foundation level, and evidence synthesis through network-meta-analysis for the advanced level. This workshop will also provide participants with the necessary skills to develop the confidence to apply these methodologies to develop the evidence base for health technology assessments.

Features of this workshop:

• This is the first time that the advanced level workshop is being offered in Asia
• The workshop is very customized. Participants have a choice of attending only the foundation level (3 days) or advanced level (1 day) or a combination of both levels (4 days)
• It is the first time experts in the field will be brought together to share their experiences in using various approaches of network meta-analysis.

Who should attend

This workshop is suitable for clinicians (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals), academicians, researchers, and postgraduate students. This workshop is designed for those interested in undertaking a systematic review and meta- analysis. For foundation level, no previous knowledge of systematic review is required. For advanced level, a basic understanding of meta-analysis is required.
