Monash University Malaysia has launched CareerEdge, an AI-powered interview simulation platform designed to help students strengthen communication skills and prepare for an increasingly AI-enabled workforce. The launch marks a big step forward, with CareerEdge believed to be the first university-developed AI interview simulation platform of its kind available to students in Malaysia.
Developed by Monash University and powered by its proprietary ATLAS technology, which stands for Authentic Teaching and Learning through Adaptive Simulations, CareerEdge provides students with a realistic and personalised environment to practise job and internship interviews, receive immediate feedback, and refine their responses before entering the workforce.
The platform offers AI-supported interview simulations across a range of industry contexts and communication styles, allowing students to practise in a safe, low-stakes environment. Through voice, video, and text-based interactions, CareerEdge analyses both what students say and how they communicate, providing detailed post-session feedback and actionable recommendations to support continuous improvement.
Professor Emeritus Dato' Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman (President and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Monash University Malaysia) officiated the launch of CareerEdge
“CareerEdge reflects Monash University Malaysia's commitment to leverage responsible AI to enhance student experience and graduate employability. As workplaces continue to evolve, employers are seeking graduates who can combine strong technical capabilities with effective communication and professional skills. By providing opportunities for practice, reflection, and personalised feedback, CareerEdge helps students build the confidence and readiness needed to succeed in the future of work”, said Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University Malaysia.
CareerEdge was developed by Dr Joel Moore, Senior Lecturer in Digital Transformation at Monash University, and forms part of the University’s broader Career Impact ecosystem. The platform was co-designed with students, academics, and career experts to provide personalised, on-demand career support tailored to each student’s development journey. The platform was designed to bridge the gap between university learning and professional environments by giving students repeated opportunities to practise real-world workplace interactions.

Beyond interview practice, CareerEdge offers a suite of career development tools and resources, including resume feedback, guided career-pathway conversations, and professional networking skills practice. Its AI-supported personas are designed by educators and industry experts to simulate realistic professional interactions, with more than 150 personas available across a wide range of disciplines and workplace scenarios.
CareerEdge has already supported more than 8,000 students with over 10,000 simulated conversations across its test platforms. The initiative has also received national recognition in Australia, having been shortlisted for the 2025 QS Reimagine Education Awards and named a finalist for the 2026 Australian Financial Review AI Awards.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape recruitment and the future of work, CareerEdge demonstrates how universities can use responsible AI to enhance career readiness while keeping human development at the centre of the student experience.
