As a precautionary measure, the university activated its emergency response procedures, evacuated affected campuses in Subang Jaya and Johor Bahru, and worked closely with the police and relevant authorities to conduct comprehensive security assessments. The timeline below outlines the university's response, key developments, and official updates as the situation evolved.

Monash University Malaysia has resumed normal campus operations following a reported threat on 4 June.
After a thorough security assessment by the relevant local authorities, all campuses returned to normal operations on 5 June.
The University’s priority is to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our community and campuses.
We thank the Subang Jaya and Larkin District Police Departments and our security team for their swift response.
We are continuing to work closely with local authorities to investigate this matter and have temporarily increased security at our campus to ensure the health and safety of our community.
We thank our community for its patience while we worked to facilitate the safe return to normal campus operations, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Monash University Malaysia confirms that the CSJB campus has also received clearance from the police and relevant authorities following a security assessment.
Following the completion of their investigation and security checks, the police have provided clearance for normal campus operations to resume immediately today, 5 June 2026.
We thank the local authorities for their swift response and professionalism throughout the incident. We also thank our students, staff and security personnel in Johor Bahru for their cooperation during the evacuation and subsequent campus closure.
The university will continue to work closely with the authorities and review the incident in line with our established safety and security protocols.

Monash University Malaysia confirms that the police have completed their security assessment of the campus and have advised that the Sunway City campus is safe.
Last night, the university activated its emergency response procedures following a reported bomb threat. As a precautionary measure, the campus was evacuated, and access was temporarily restricted while the authorities conducted a thorough assessment.
Following the completion of their investigation and security checks, the police have provided clearance for normal campus operations to resume today, 5 June 2026.
We thank the Subang Jaya District Police Station and the relevant authorities for their swift response and professionalism throughout the incident.
We also thank our students, staff and security personnel for their cooperation during the evacuation and subsequent campus closure.
Meanwhile, the CSJB campus will remain closed until further notice. We continue to work closely with the authorities and review the incident in line with our established safety and security protocols.
