Support for those affected by the crisis in Iran and the Middle East

Monash University Malaysia offers its support to our students, staff, alumni, and the wider community directly or indirectly impacted by the escalating situation in Iran and the Middle East. We acknowledge the distress our students and staff from Iran, and those with family and friends in the affected areas, may be experiencing at this challenging time.

We recognise that the situation may be impacting people in different ways, and support is available for anyone who needs it.

For our students:

For our staff, the Employee Assistance Program is available to them and their immediate families at 1800 818 356 (24 hours).

Travel disruptions
We know that some of our students in the Middle East are currently unable to travel to Malaysia. Your place at the University remains secure, and your enrolment and academic standing will not be affected by travel disruptions outside your control.

Remote access to your studies
If you are currently unable to travel to Malaysia, arrangements are now in place to ensure you can continue your studies and that you will not be disadvantaged academically. You can log in to your online classroom, Moodle, now and start engaging with your learning activities and resources so you are well prepared to commence face-to-face learning when you arrive.

If you’re a graduate research student, please speak to your supervisor or your school’s graduate research coordinator, or email mum.gro@monash.edu.

Travel advice
In line with the advice from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Smartraveller website, Monash travel is suspended to the Middle East, including transit through the region. For any enquiries, please contact Travel Risk at travelrisk@monash.edu.

We are here to support all those affected by this crisis and stand with you during this difficult time.
