Governance
A multi-campus, research-intensive university and a member of Australia’s Group of Eight, Monash University consistently ranks among the world’s top 100 universities, reflecting our strong commitment to academic and research excellence. Our footprint is truly global, spanning four Australian campuses, international campuses in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and India, and a centre in Prato, Italy.
Monash University’s Academic Board is responsible for our academic affairs, ensuring the highest standards in education and research across all global locations.
This rigorous oversight ensures that we apply the same stringent quality benchmarks to every Monash degree, regardless of where it is delivered, and that our graduates are awarded the same Monash University testamur, regardless of their campus of study. This oversight extends to Monash degrees that are offered jointly with partner universities.
All Monash’s qualifications are quality-assured by the Australian Government’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency, and equivalent local accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies in locations where we operate.
In Malaysia, Monash University is rated Competitive (Berdaya Saing), the highest tier in the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia's SETARA rating system. This distinction cements our status as a premier institution within the country’s higher education landscape.
