Why did you choose to study the Master of International Business (MIB) at Monash?

I chose MIB because it aligns with and brings me a step closer to my career goals. I believe studying the course at Monash will provide me an Australian education experience right here in Malaysia.

How was your study experience at Monash Malaysia?

It has been fruitful and satisfying. I have learnt so much within and beyond the scope of the course. The assignments are challenging but extremely rewarding at the same time, and that motivates me to read more and work harder. I especially appreciate how knowledgeable, insightful and helpful the lecturers are.

What would you say is the most valuable skill or experience you’ve gained?

The most valuable skill I’ve gained is the ability to form and have confidence in my own opinion. At times, there isn’t a right or wrong answer. Instead, I found that it is often required to do ample reading and research in order to develop my own opinion, creatively and justifiably. I have also found that it is crucial and oftentimes fruitful to listen to the opinions of others as you get to learn so much more from one another.

What did you enjoy most about your student life?

Apart from gaining knowledge from the course, I especially appreciated having the opportunity to have conversations and discourse outside of class in regards to a variety of current issues with lecturers as well as my peers. It’s a larger plus that most of them came from different backgrounds and cultures, thus providing me with a wider range of perspectives and ideas.

What are your career goals?

Through my upbringing and education, I’ve begun to see myself in public service in the national or international environment. I have formed a strong interest in public policy, trade policy and international relations and would hope to one day contribute to national and societal development.
