Why did you choose to pursue your postgraduate studies at Monash Malaysia?
I chose to pursue my postgraduate studies at Monash Malaysia because of its esteemed reputation in education quality and its extensive global network. The university offers a Master of International Business program that perfectly aligns with my career aspirations. The deciding factor was the open day I attended, where the engaging lectures and the enthusiasm of the faculty deeply influenced my decision to enroll.
Please tell us about your study experience at Monash. Did it meet your expectations and did what you learn help to open up more career opportunities?
My study experience at Monash was profoundly enriching and exceeded my expectations. The curriculum was not only challenging but also richly grounded in practical applications, which are directly applicable to the real-world challenges I now face in my career. A highlight of my academic journey was building friendships with peers from diverse cultures (i.e., Japan, Korea, China, and Indonesia) as well as with peers who brought extensive work experience. These relationships have greatly enriched my understanding of global business practices and effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
What did you enjoy most about your student life at Monash?
What I enjoyed most about my student life at Monash was the vibrant campus culture. The opportunity to connect with students from various cultural backgrounds was particularly rewarding, as it broadened my perspectives and enhanced my interpersonal skills, which are crucial in my current role at Deloitte.
What is your biggest career goal, or what is the difference you’d like to make?
My biggest career goal is to be a leader within the risk management space, where I can influence and shape industry practices through innovative strategies developed through the experience that I expect to garner. I aim to lead a team that not only addresses current challenges but can also anticipate future risks, thereby protecting and enhancing the operational resilience of businesses across various sectors. This role would allow me to leverage my analytical skills and the global business perspectives I gained from my studies at Monash Malaysia.
